Micheál Podgers is an urban and transportation policy expert based in Chicago. He holds a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor's from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in history and German language. Prior to working at Climate Cabinet Education, he wrote about urban policy issues for Streetsblog Chicago, Curbed Chicago, and Planning Magazine and he supported the passage of the Northeastern Illinois Transit Authority Act. Micheál is a member of the board of Better Streets Chicago where he has supported successful campaigns to improve sidewalk conditions and worked to have DuSable Lake Shore Drive (US 41) selected as one of the Center for New Urbanism’s Freeways Without Futures in 2025.
