Key Projects
From supporting efforts to expand Bus Rapid Transit options to driving “last mile” and microtransit options that connect workers with jobs in the suburbs, MobiliSE is taking real steps to bring our mission to life every day, supporting efforts to make multimodal transportation a reality across the region.
Bus Rapid Transit
BRT provides more efficient, higher frequency service using all-electric buses, dedicated bus lanes, traffic signal priority, off-board fare collection, optimized station locations, raised platforms that allow for easy boarding, and other amenities. MobiliSE is getting behind projects like the East-West BRT project coming in 2022 — and planning the Milwaukee North-South Transit Enhancement project for the long term.
partnering on a plan to Bridge the
“last mile”
Lifted by grants from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, and others, MobiliSE is partnering to develop solutions to get workers in Franklin, Oak Creek, New Berlin and Brookfield to jobs beyond the reach of current transit options.
On-Demand Microtransit
MobiliSE is proud to partner on FlexRide Milwaukee, a microtransit solution that uses technology to close Milwaukee’s first- and last-mile transit gaps. Riders are picked up from one of five stops served by the Milwaukee County Transit System and dropped off at any employer within the Menomonee Falls and Butler service areas.
Workforce Mobility Team
In partnership with Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) and public and private sector transportation providers, MobiliSE works to connect employers with transportation options for their employees, expanding the available labor pool for employers. We consult with businesses and business groups to discover solutions to their unique needs, including partnerships with rideshare or vanpool companies, development of transportation management associations, and more.
Complete streets
MobiliSE strongly stands behind Complete Streets, an approach to design that “integrates people and place in the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of our transportation networks,” according to the National Complete Streets Coalition.
